As the festive season approaches, The Hubb Foundation is delighted to announce that bookings for the Winter Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme are now live!
Running from Saturday 21st December to Sunday 5th January, this programme provides children with enriching activities, nutritious meals, and a safe space to enjoy their school holidays.
About the Winter HAF Programme
Coordinated by The Hubb Foundation on behalf of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, the HAF programme aims to address the challenges that school holidays can bring for families. For many, holiday periods mean increased costs, such as food and childcare, coupled with reduced incomes.
Thanks to funding from the Department for Education (DfE), the Winter HAF programme aims to offer a range of exciting activities, all paired with healthy meals to keep children active, engaged, and well-nourished.
Why the HAF Programme Matters
The HAF Programme isn’t just about filling time during the holidays; it’s about creating opportunities for children to thrive. By providing access to organised activities, nutritious meals, and in a supportive environment helps children:
✔️ Maintain their physical and mental well-being.
✔️ Build resilience and self-confidence through engaging activities.
✔️ Enjoy social connections and reduce feelings of isolation.
What’s in it for your child?
1. They get to try new things; we have lots of activities provided by some brilliant local providers.
2. They get to have fun – no day or hour will be the same.
3. They will be able to see their friends and make new ones.
4. We will ensure all children are fed at the session.
What’s even better… It’s a FREE programme for children aged 4 – 16 who are eligible for Free School Meals.
