Meet the Team

What I do: I am responsible for managing the charity, leading the team and reporting to the Chair and Board of Trustees. My role also includes delivering on our strategy and making key decisions for the organisation as well as maintaining and developing high level and key relationships.

Background: Having left school at 16, I was fortunate to enjoy an 18-year career as a professional footballer playing in the Football League. During this time, I completed a BA Hons degree at Staffordshire University and then retired from football at 34 with an injury. Since then, I have worked closely with founder Carol Shanahan to set up The Hubb Foundation and then with the Board of Trustees to increase our reach and impact and support children and families of our city.

School history: I attended two Catholic schools – St Maria Goretti, Bentilee, as a child and then Painsley High School in Cheadle.

Favourite subject: Sport was obviously my favourite but I also enjoyed chemistry.

Favourite thing about working for the Hubb: I enjoy supporting people and helping make a difference to people’s lives. There is so much potential in our young people and helping to support those in poverty and raise aspirations is key. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to make real change and I’m proud of the amazing Hubb team for their tireless work.
