Christmas Appeal 2020

Port Vale FC, Staffordshire Police, the Port Vale Foundation Trust and the Hubb Foundation children’s charity are joining forces with community champion Jason Powner to bring a little festive cheer to needy and vulnerable local people.

Our Christmas appeal will seek to deliver presents and food to children, families and isolated individuals across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire in the run up to December 25.

For many years Jason, who runs the popular SkinJase tattoo parlour in Smallthorne, has been helping needy local people with everything from food parcels or Christmas and Easter gifts to complete house makeovers.

After a year like no other, we are working with Jason to help make Christmas special for local people who may be struggling.

We are specifically asking for new and unwrapped toys for children aged up to 16, unwrapped gifts for isolated adults and donations of non-perishable food items for needy families.

Donations can be dropped off at:

  • SkinJase Tattoo Parlour, 83 Ford Green Road, Smallthorne, on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, 10am to midday

  • Burslem Police Station, 6 Jackson Street, Burslem, every day, 8am to 10pm

  • Port Vale Foundation, Hamil Road, Burslem, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm – Hamil Road Stand – Gate D

Mark Barlow, Chief Inspector for the North of Stoke-on-Trent, said: “We know it has been a difficult year for many families, especially as we – as a county – continue to do all we can to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

“We hope by being part of this appeal we are able to help vulnerable children, isolated adults and others receive something special to help them celebrate Christmas in this time of uncertainty.

“It’s important that everyone knows they are cared for, not just over Christmas, but throughout the year, and we as a force are determined to do what we can to help local people stay safe, healthy and celebrate this festive season.”

Port Vale co-owner and Chair Carol Shanahan OBE said: “The work Jason does very much chimes with what the club, the Port Vale Foundation and the Hubb Foundation have been doing since the pandemic began – delivering more than 180,000 meals to families across Stoke-on-Trent. Jason is a force of nature and we are proud to once again be working with him to bring some festive cheer to homes across the Potteries and beyond this Christmas.”
